
We have years of experience which have culminated in the development of processes and systems geared to outsourcing of projects.
Specifically, we focus on ensuring technical accuracy and process efficiency underpinned by accepted communication methods for each project type to allow feedback and approval through the collaboration process. XS CAD was the first company in the UK to use 'Buzzsaw' - the leading online collaboration package from Autodesk. We now use a range of online collaboration tools and utilities for managing projects in real time in a collaborative environment.
M&E Coordination Projects
We have a tried and tested process in place that includes the following stage:
- Collation and assimilation of project data / information required to complete a coordinated building services model and drawings. (for example architectural and structural layouts, M&E design specifications and M&E design drawings)
- Set up of a communication and reporting framework to include all project and finance contacts and online collaboration protocols.
- Production and ongoing management of our own deliverables program to feed into a master sub-contractor or main contractor program. This includes a ‘value engineering’ layer which is made possible with the aid of the latest clash detection utilities available from Autodesk MEP and Autodesk Navisworks.
Our M&E (MEP) Coordination process is underpinned by the need to provide a solution that is easy to install and is cost efficient.
3D Modelling Projects
Our approach varies and needs to be flexible for each type of 3D modelling project, depending on whether the model is for standalone purposes or being used as an input for another process or project. Project types include:
- SME Projects (Single Model Environment)
- BIM Projects (Building Information Models)
- 3D Solid models as visualisation inputs
- 3D AutoCAD/ADT models for M&E project inputs
- 3D Mechanical Component Models for M&E Coordinated Drawing Projects
- 4D CAD Models for input into timeline software
- 3D Models for design development
All such 3D CAD projects are reliant on up to date project information including plans, elevations and section drawings or designs.
Our processes and approach to 3D CAD modelling will identify inconsistencies within the information we are provided with and through identification and subsequent correction we are able to produce 3D CAD models that reflect the actual site with a high degree of accuracy.
