XS CAD provides mechanical, electrical, public health and fire protection building services design (also known as building engineering and architectural engineering) to building services designers and consultants.
Our LEED accredited team of mechanical design engineers and electrical design engineers have experience of designing for new and refurbished buildings in the US, UK and Australia.
Whilst we work closely to client needs and requirements we do possess a team with competent design expertise. When designing MEP services we approach all projects holistically, taking into account other factors such as sustainability needs, architectural design and structural factors as well taking into account broader commercial elements.
Due to the changing set of deliverables required from our design output, we also focus on delivering designs in BIM format, these are spatially coordinated models that can be installed and accessed by contracting and installation teams. Our adoption of BIM serves as an effective design tool aid and has been developed over a number of years in conjunction with our own skilled team of BIM modellers and BIM coordinators.
We do provide comprehensive design support for all stages of the design process from concept, schematic, design development, tender and construction stages. For lighting design and in particular lux level calculations we use DIALux, while for mechanical design and in particular for calculating air conditioning loads, we use Camel software. In order to most effectively utilise the benefit of an off-shore MEP Design partner and to manage design workflow seamlessly, it is during the schematic and design development phases that we are able to demonstrate most value due to the ability to take ownership of these phases of the design process.
