Sr. Estimation Engineer – Electrical

This position involves working in the MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire) design and engineering team at XS CAD’s Global Delivery Centre at Andheri in Mumbai.

XS CAD’s MEP design and engineering team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. This team delivers core building services design solutions to global MEP customers. XS CAD has delivered MEP services for hundreds of projects over the past 20 years, including hospitals, airports, stadia, educational institutes, commercial and residential buildings.

This position would require the candidate to work directly with leading MEP design consulting firms from Australia/USA/UK, who are involved in some of the flagship projects in their regions.

This job specifically involves the following key roles and responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Sr. Manager of MEP Design & Engineering
  • Providing project take-offs and associated documentation for the purpose of tendering
  • Understanding electrical drawings, calculations, schedules, schematics and quantify accordingly
  • Experience in communications, security, audio visual and nurse call services will be an added advantage.
  • Any experience using the Autodesk Construction Cloud - specifically Autodesk Take-off - will be seen as an advantage.
  • Working independently
  • Communicating regularly with clients
  • Understanding codes and standards local to project locations and utilising the latest industry-leading software
  • Taking on a leadership role with the potential of growing a team reporting to them
  • Training other team members as required

Minimum 5 years’ experience with estimation

  • Experience using any estimation software, such as ConEst, ProEst
  • Experience working on Revit
  • Experience with Autodesk Cloud (Docs, Takeoff & Build)
  • Experience using MS Office
  • Proven experience of successfully managing client communication independently

Diploma/BE/BTech degree in electrical engineering with relevant technical qualifications

This job also involves the following aspects:

  • Independently communicating with clients, stakeholders, leaders and peers in written and spoken English
  • Independently working on take-offs using software such as Bluebeam
  • Displaying leadership skills
  • Training and working on new software
  • Undertaking offshore visits to clients’ offices, if required, for detailed training and one-on-one sessions
  • Displaying positive attitudes, such as flexibility, collaborative nature and empathy
  • Accepting and implementing constructive feedback
  • Good knowledge of digital engineering, estimating process, commercial aspects of design and installation and site installation and commissioning process
  • Value engineering tasks, such as analysing tender documentation and providing technical advice

Compensation for this post will be in line with qualifications and experience. It will not be a constraint for the right team member.
