Architectural 3D Modeling

We provide a range of architectural 3D modelling services to our customers to aid the design, planning and visualisation phase of construction projects.

Our experienced team of modellers have created models for shopping centres, hospitals, airports, hotel complexes, transport infrastructure, residential areas and mixed-use sites.

Our architecture design support team uses BIM 360 (C4R) technology, a cloud based tool on Revit. Our Revit family designers are adept at Revit family creation, with several years of experience. This technology helps to connect and collaborate with multiple teams and project stakeholders involved in various stages during the design of an architectural project. Teams in different offices can work on the same model, allowing for seamless collaboration and sharing of project data. This form of synchronised coordination, two-way communication and the ability to review and comment upon a design heavily influence the success of architectural design projects managed by XS CAD.

Revit BIM 3D Models

Using Autodesk Revit Architecture we create intelligent Revit BIM models (Building Information Models) for a range of architectural projects. Using BIM models ensures that any changes to schedules, plans, elevations, sections or the 3D model itself result in coordinated updates to all corresponding areas. This is referred to as ‘integrated bi-directional associativity’ by Autodesk.

Revit Architecture allows for a range of other benefits including material take-offs, interference checks and improved compatibility with other Autodesk visualisation tools, such as 3Ds Max.

Our Revit project experience includes developing construction drawing sets for leading homebuilders in the US, Australia and Canada; developing models, associated drawings, and schedules for multi-use buildings in the UK, the US and Australia, including high-rise structures; and creating Revit-based construction drawing sets for retail design updates.

Point Cloud 3D BIM Models

We take 3D laser scan data in the form of ‘point cloud’ data and use it to create accurate Revit BIM models for architects, retailers and general contractors. Typically we will create scan-to-BIM models for existing building where no accurate or up-to-date plans are in place. We will usually also model the proposed alterations (false ceiling and additional structural items) so that our customer has an accurate and updated model with which to progress their design.

3D CAD Building Models

We create building models using Autodesk Revit, ArchiCAD and AutoCAD Architecture for architects, consulting engineers, structural engineers, main contractors and subcontractors. Using 2D layout plans and elevations as a starting point, we create entire architectural and structural building models to exact standards and specifications. We specialise in providing ArchiCAD 3D Modeling services and also undertake to maintain the models for such projects throughout the duration of a project — from design through to installation/handover.

SketchUp Models

We provide a number of customers with SketchUp models for all stages of the design process. Our SketchUp modelling services are used by architects, developers and specialist users. SketchUp 3D models can be as simple or as detailed as required by the clients. These models have the added flexibility of being used in a number of other applications, including Revit, AutoCAD and other virtual software applications.

4D CAD Building Models

We create 3D models with the added element of time-based scheduling for main contractors and project managers. These models show the development of a model over the duration of a planned build and enable more effective resource and budget management.

3D CAD Component Modelling & Revit Family Modelling

We create 3D model libraries (using AutoCAD or Revit) for all equipment, fixtures, fittings and furniture within construction and engineering domains. Our Revit 3D Modeling services are used by original equipment manufacturers as these same-class models include all parameters and constraints that can be modified as per requirements.
