Prefabricated MEP Drawings
Prefabricated MEP drawings involve integrating prefabricated MEP (M&E) components and services into a module or assembly that is manufactured off site, so that installation on site becomes easier for contractors. The completed modules are used for risers, corridors, plant rooms and energy centres.
What We Provide
We provide our service at the initial stages of prefabrication and we will typically create plans or module maps to maximise the areas that are to be modularised. For example, for a large hospital site with services corridors, we will look at room entry points and corridor junctions when planning the sizes and locations of modules to ensure that site installation is maximised.
XS CAD provides a range of prefabricated MEP (M&E) services
- Prefabricated MEP drawings and prefabricated construction modelling services, within the BIM environment
- DfMA modelling and drawings of detailed building services corridors or risers with HVAC, pipework, drainage, electrical and fire services within a steel frame (such as Unistrut) and schedules of equipment
- 3D modular construction drawings, complete with schedules of MEP equipment
- Spool drawings for all components, to improve manufacturing accuracy
- The completed modules are used for risers, corridors, plant rooms and energy centres
Design Stages We Cover
Working with teams from along the design through to contracting supply chain, we provide our prefabricated MEP drawings services for specific stages of the building engineering process. Our output covers the following stages:
- Coordination
- Fabrication
- Installation
- As-fitted (record or as-built) stages
Software We Use
By using the latest 3D modelling software, Revit, AutoCAD and clash detection technology, Autodesk Navisworks, for 3D building services coordination, we can ensure that the MEP coordinated drawings in our spatially coordinated MEP building services models work to global engineering standards and that we create clash-free prefabricated MEP models and drawings for MEP trade contractors.
Customers
We have extensive experience of working within modularised project environments and have worked to the requirements of a number of international module manufacturers closely to meet the needs of their specifications as well as the expectations of our customers. We provide prefabricated MEP drawings for several customers, including:
- Multidisciplinary design consultants (either for design only deliverables or for more detailed design deliverables that can be used along the supply chain)
- Multi-service MEP building services contractors
- Single service MEP trade contractors
- VDC (virtual design & construction) coordinators
- BIM managers
Portfolio
We have undertaken a range of prefabricated construction BIM modelling and drawing services for the following building types:
- Public and private healthcare institutions
- Commercial offices for low-level and multi-level sites
- Sports stadia and leisure complexes
- Universities, schools, colleges and general education
Projects
We have delivered a variety of MEP BIM coordination projects for the healthcare, education, commercial building, sports stadium and other sectors.
